Elizabeth Wierchowski DDS

Elizabeth Wierchowski, DDS

Holley Dental Care | Implant Restorations, Invisalign reg and TMJ Disorders

Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the dental profession, Dr. Wierchowski's early experiences in a dental office shaped her passion for dentistry.

She pursued her academic excellence in chemistry at Canisius University, Buffalo, NY, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors. And further honed her skills at the University of Buffalo, earning her D.D.S. Cum Laude, followed by an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Rochester.

She was born and raised in South Buffalo in a lively Irish community where even the street signs are written in Gaelic. Her childhood home was close enough to the Bills stadium to see the lights during nighttime games. After moving to Rochester to complete her residency, Dr. Wierchowski decided it was the place to raise her family.

What truly sets Dr. Wierchowski apart is her impressive academic credentials, deep-rooted family ties to dentistry, and her genuine, heartfelt approach to patient care. To her, dentistry goes beyond treating teeth; it's about building relationships, understanding each patient's story, and creating a space where they feel heard and cared for.

"Doing dentistry is almost the secondary way of helping patients. In order to truly help, you need to listen. In a world where everything is hurry up and go, I aim to help by letting patients know I care about not just their teeth but them as a whole."

Dr. Wierchowski brings her advanced skills and experience to provide a patient-centric approach to dental health care. Her commitment to providing comprehensive dental care for families ensures that every patient, regardless of age, receives the highest standard of personalized care.

When not making smiles in the dental office, you can find her spending time with her family or planning their next trip to Disney World. She is a marathon runner, a DIY enthusiast, and the mastermind behind dazzling holiday light shows. One day, she hopes to travel to Tibet and trek to the base of Mt. Everest to stand in its shadow.

Why did you decide to become a dentist?

I grew up in an extended family of people in the dental profession. I spent my school age years hanging out in a dental office after school and my high school years assisting. I always knew I wanted to work in the medical field in some capacity and it made sense to me to remain in a setting that felt so much like home to me. My comfort level with the dental office setting helps me bring a higher level of comfort and confidence to my patients.

Tell us how you help patients every day?

Doing dentistry is almost the secondary way of helping patients. In order to truly help, you need to listen. My aim is to connect with every patient by finding things we have in common and things we can converse about that help us understand each other. In a world where everything seems hurry up and go, I aim to help by letting patients know I care about not just their teeth but them as a whole.

Where did you go to school?

I completed a B.A. Summa Cum Laude with Honors in Chemistry at Canisius University in Buffalo, NY. I completed my D.D.S. Cum Laude at the University of Buffalo. I completed my Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Rochester.

Where were you born? Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

I was born and raised in South Buffalo, a large Irish community where even the street signs are written in Gaelic. The house I grew up in is close enough to the Bills stadium to see the lights during nighttime games. After moving to Rochester in 2009 to complete my residency I decided it was the place I wanted to raise my family. I currently reside on the west side of the city and love it here!

What do you love about your job? What motivates you to go into work every day?

It’s hard to choose one thing I love about my job but if I had to pick I would say it’s the ability to meet and know so many people. I feel I learn as much from my patients as they learn from me and I have had some really enriching experiences in getting to know people. The thing that motivates me to come to work daily is pride on knowing that people are counting on me to help them with any dental issues they may have and that I can show up 100% and do just that.

What do you enjoy to do in your free time?

My free time is filled with many things : I love to bike and run, and just completed my third marathon in Disney World in January of 2023. When I am not working out you can find me doing some sort of DIY project in my house (although I am running out of rooms in my house to redo) or working on my Halloween and Christmas music lights shows that run outside my house each holiday season. I also love to be able to travel to Disney with family when we can all get together.

Tell us about your family/pets?

I am happily married and have an 8 year old son. My family is the best thing about me and they bring me a great amount of joy on a daily basis.

At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?

Home Depot, without a doubt.

I excel at silent piano and air guitar.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?

Doing logic puzzles. I can never get enough of math and logic based puzzles and I have various apps and paper books in every room of my house.

What’s the strangest talent you have?

I have an excellent internal clock. I rarely need an alarm to wake up, I can tell what time it is with no frame of reference, and if given an entire day of events or things to do I can tell you within 10 minutes what time they will all be completed.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

Take an expedition to the base of Mt Everest and spend a few weeks at base camp. Get my captains license. Run a marathon with my son.

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

Tibet. I am fascinated by Mt. Everest and would love to stand in its shadow.
